Do you build log homes?
No, we do not build the home but we put in you in contact with a qualified builder in your area who will complete the construciton of your Pine Ridge Log Home. |

Do you custom design your homes?
Yes, all of our homes are custum designed. We work closely with a certifited architect who will help you design a home to meet your needs. We also offer a catalog that provides about 22 different floor plans to help you get started on a floor plan. |

Are your logs kiln dried or air dried?
We
offer both kiln and air dried
logs.
Will the logs settle, check,
shrink or crack? All logs, regardless
of species or style, will 'move'. Most log
home owners feel checking adds to the charm of
their home.
What is not included in
the package? Plumbing, Electrical,
Kitchen cabinets, Flooring, interior trim,
Finishing interior walls,
What
types of corners does Pine Ridge
use? Butt and Pass, Dovetail, Saddlenotch, Swedish
Cope, Vertical
How long does it
take to build a Pine Ridge Log
Home? Once you have everything in
place, it will take your builder 4-6 months to
complete your log home.
What
type of wood is best for a log
home? Different species have different
characteristics, and the best type of wood depends
on your particular needs.
-White Pine is usually
chosen for its light color and few
knots.
-Cedar is naturally resistant to
disease and insects.
What type of
maintenance is needed for a log
home?
A preservative treatment-with stain if desired- are recommended as soon as possible after construction is completed. The preservative should be applied to exterior surfaces every three to five years. |
Are log
homes energy efficient? The
thermal properties
of wood make logs great insulators, and on
the insulation value increases with log diameter
and density.
What makes us
